What Does “Mission Driven” Really Mean?

What Does “Mission Driven” Really Mean?

What Does “Mission Driven” Really Mean?

Working for MRC has been rewarding and one of the best career moves I have ever made. Not only do I get the opportunity to change the lives of seniors but they have also changed mine. You may ask how that is possible. It is due to working for a company that is mission driven.

I formerly worked in grocery retail, then I came to MRC’s ICARE (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) culture and it changed everything for me. As employees of MRC, we are encouraged to do the right thing when no one is looking. Integrity. Where sitting and having coffee with a resident is encouraged. Compassion. Where you accomplish your daily task and know it’s for a bigger purpose. Accountability. When it’s easy to love and be kind to your co-workers. Respect. That no matter what happens at the end of the day you can sit back and realize the impact a smile and hug can have on a resident. Excellence. All of these go hand in hand, effecting one another. In my personal opinion, ICARE could easily be replaced with ILOVE. “Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14.

In conclusion, working for a company that is mission driven is important and satisfying. It fuels our daily lives and fuels the soul. It’s a reminder that we care because we love and we love because we care. The world needs more of that and it can easily be found at MRC.
